kyle g. mclaughlin is a commercial photographer and artist. His roots began in photojournalism where he showed a great aptitude for sports photography. The timing and eye for composition necessary for this role quickly landed him the title of photography editor and earned him his first professional credits at a local paper.
In college, he turned his interests away from the concrete ideas of journalism and became more intrigued by the arts. His new found passion drove him through his college career ultimately leading him to expressing his thoughts more abstractly. He graduated cum laude receiving a BFA with an emphasis in photography.
In his last year of school kyle began an internship with Nola Studio and later this internship turned into an assistantship. Upon graduation, he took a full time position as a photographer at Nancy Nolan Photography. From his time spent working at NNP, kyle learned volumes about lighting concepts and techniques as well as methods for photographic manipulations. These tools quickly allowed him to elevate his photographs to professional quality.
With a few years of experience as a professional photographer, kyle felt confident in his abilities and set out to open his own studio and thus created studio kgm.
